My Grandfather was an Irish Catholic who once lived in Belfast, Northern Ireland. Someone told me that most of the Catholics in Northern Ireland were Scottish transplants is this true?

That would apply more to the Protestants who had settled the Belfast area, which would begin a long, bitter conflict between the green and the orange.

The orange drove the catholics off their land and have remained a stronghold in the six counties ever since.
