Easy way:

Alt 160 = á
Alt 130 = é
Alt 161 = í
Alt 162 = ó
Alt 163 = ú
Alt 164 = ñ

Not so easy way:

Start > Accesories > System Tools > Character Map
Find the characters you'd like to use, copy and paste.

Most difficult (but most practical in long-term) way:

Start > Control Panel > Regional and Language Options > Languages > Details...

This will temporarily switch your keyboard to spanish. Then, if you want to write "á" (for example), you'd press the key with [ and {, and then the "A" key. The : / ; key is the "ñ" now. You can easily switch from one to the other.

Hope this helps!

click on windows help or search for character map.
Most worldwide characters are available, if you loaded the multi-lanuage from windows
You can load these by putting your windows disc in AFTER you are booted and running!
Most of the the characters have a numeric code so you hold down Alt and type in a 3 digit code and the character appears in your text
Alt+164=ñ
Alt+165=Ñ
and so on.
