Why do parents smoke around their kids? Is their habbit more important than their childs health?

I've seen parents smoke in their cars, with children in the back seat and the windows rolled up. Is thier filthy habbit really more imporant than their kids health?

I've been asking myself that for years! My parents smoked my entire life and my mom eventually died from lung cancer. She didn't even quit after she had a heart attack twice before getting lung cancer. I was just 22 when she died and I've always thought the cigarettes were more important to her than me. She wouldn't quit even if it meant dying.

I hope not, I have asthma and so does my dad and he still smokes, he rolls the window down but it still bothers me and the smell bothers me too! But when there child has a attack because of their habbit, maybe then they will learn that they need to show some respect and smoke else were or don't smoke at all!

Personally, I don't see what the problem is. I grew up in a family where I was the only one who DID NOT smoke and everyone else (mom, dad, one brother and one sister) smoked, especially during dinner. I survived about 10-15 years of that and I'm still kicking.

when it comes down to addiction, they don`t care how they get it, as long as they get that craving fulfilled.
my mother smoked over 2 packs a day from before i was born, through my birth, and is recently trying to quit (15 years later). she shows no sympathy for my asthma and frequent bronchitis due to the asthma.
as long as she has that addiction, she will stop at nothing.

i imagine that is somewhat severe. i imagine they're somewhat stupid, yet no longer inevitably toddler abusers. If that replaced into the case might want to we lock up each and every of the mum and father that feed there toddlers junk foodstuff and enable them get overweight. affirming that like, if those were made into criminal offences, the undesirable toddlers of in the present day ought to have a extra ideal danger!

medical fact.... 2nd hand is 4 times worse for yonger kids than the average person..so yea i guess my dad smoked ALL my life and wont quit.
