Drugs don't seem to be as prevalent in my city as they were 10 - 20 years ago is this true in your city?

No way... it is a lot worse. Just look at them. They mature faster and do everything faster. They (kids) also do things like arosol can sniffing or otc drugs in mass does. "The use of illegal drugs is increasing, especially among young teens. The average age of first marijuana use is 14, and alcohol use can start before age 12. The use of marijuana and alcohol in high school has become common."

Larry, what city are or area are you in, cause I'd like to go there and check it out!! The kids are doing more drugs than ever before and heroin use is on the rise and at an all time high, even in small towns. The kids are doing DIFFERENT drugs than our age group did, if you're in your mid 30s to early 40's, but "Ice, GHB, Xanax, Meth, Ectasy " they're all really big with the kids now--especially those under 18. It's not like they're getting stoned on pot, drunk and pucking and praying at the white cold alter (toilet) anymore, or doing a hit of acid. But I'm in the medical profession where I have to deal with this alot-I'd say it goes undetected more often now by the general population-not like in our day (if I may be so bold to assume you're about my age) when you smoked a couple joints and "reeked" to high heaven. Pot is small stuff to kids now, and who wants to use the same drug their parents did-that would be so unkewl!!! ROFLOL.

Drugs are worse. With so many new ways kids find to get high. I think you don't notice it as much when you are not around it. When I was a kid it was smoking pot and doing acid..Now you have kids doing Extascy, Crack, Speed, Meth, Coke, Pills, Getting high off of cans of compressed air etc.

well i am a teenager, so i dont kno what it was like back then, but from what i see today it is still a big problem, ppl that i never thought smoked certain drugs or whatnot actually do, id bet to say there are more people that smoke than dont smoke, everyone i kno does it and then some

You are right. Don't listen to everyone else on here. Statistically, kids these days use drugs MUCH less. It is a fact.

Well...when I was growing up, seemed the PARENTS did a lot drugs......now...seems the kids do wayyy more drugs than I remember being around.....

yeah right man, now a days you can buy lemonade and crank on the same damn corner. the drugs are crazy!! and these poor kids think that they are super cool for indulging in them too

In all schools, the drug user students drop out so you would underestimate the amount of them.

it is the same rate as it always used to be.
only now there are new drugs, new trendy drugs [mostly weed], and new ways to hide it.
just because you can see it, doesn`t mean it`s not there.
