My Grandma and mother used to cook bacon, and then reuse the grease out of a coffee cup or can.
Eggs, pancakes, and my dad even used the grease for popping popcorn.

I still reuse the grease, but only from bacon.
I have no idea if other grease is good, but I am 40 years old, and not dead yet, and have done the "grease" thing for most of my life.

By the way, I still only weigh only 165, and I am not a short man.

My folks grew up in Hawaii (and not South Hawaii, either!), and they'd do both - used to use the grease from the sausage, bacon or whatever to fry up the next course, and used to pour out the excess oil into a coffee can or some other container, too.

YES!
My mom used to cook bacon and then when she was finished she would use that grease to cook eggs. Yes, she also used to leave the grease in a can until it hardened and then she would re-use and it made things taste so good! And she used an iron skillet which was an added bonus!

That kind of grease is to this day a delicacy in Germany...they use it as a bread spread. I never ever tried it, but I know a lot of Germans love it.

Yup, good ol' bacon grease in a tin can. I still like my eggs fried sunny side up in bacon grease.
