There are several reasons. First, they have no lives and take their misery out on other people on the Internet, because they wouldn't have the guts to be rude and say some of the things they say on here, in person. Second, they want to participate in a discussion or answer a question, but they don't understand it, and don't have the brains to post an intelligent answer, so they resort to being rude or a smart a$$. Third, some people are just immature and get joy out of ridiculing others.
Oh, by the way, they THINK that they are the ones laughing at you, but they are actually the ones who end up looking foolish.

Because some of the questions are really dumb and should have been learned in 2nd grade. That's my answer for being rude. As for being a smart a$$, it's the American way!!!

All of the above. Immaturity, supposed wittiness, desire for points, not knowing the real answer. But if you think about it, some of the questions are so open-ended they invite goofy answers. For example, I once saw posted "What shall I ask next?" There is no legitimate answer to a question like this and I think it's almost expected to generate non-serious replies.

#1 Alot of people just don't care. #2 Many are just on here- to get attention. #3 Some need to show us that they have no sense of humor. #4. Too many have nothing better to do. And #5- The rest were never taught manners to begin with. In short- try not to let it bug you. At least YOU don't act like one of them.

Some questions just ask to be made fun of, because they have to be jokes. I'd like to think they are, otherwise I question the intellegent level out there.

It's kind of like the bully syndrom in school, because they were not taught to be real human beings and treat others with respect.

Even the ignorant want two points! How else can they acquire points? Obviously they can not elucidate a meaningful answer with their limited organic CPU's!

there are 2 reasons IMO....
1. Because they can....just to get points....
2. Because they felt the question was so silly that it deserved a silly answer.
