They have signs on power lines in France that say "Danger de Mort!" with an evil skull grinning at you. Once in Texas, I got lost on a dead-end dirt road and at the end was a barbed-wire gate with a hand-painted sign on it that simply said "Go away!" That one gave me a chill.

not a foreign country, but local actually.
there is several signs when you enter Detroit that are quite amusing/frightening.

right under where it says "Now Entering Wayne County" there is a sign saying "Welcome to Detroit. We Hope You Survive."
