Mississippi's been getting on my nerves lately - I'd be willing to trade it for some ALF pogs.

Well, I surely would not give up Texas. The people that chose it are so wrong. I am a native Texan and am very proud of my state as all US citizens should be proud of the state they are from and all of the other states. This is the greatest country on earth, no matter what our troubles or differences. I cannot fathom anyone wanting to give away one state in this great country. Each state is unique and contributes to the all of the other states.

Well right now I would say Pennsylvania. Why? Last year were vacationed there and I never saw so may rude people in all my life. Wouldn't help with directions when we got lost, we would go to eat and the waitress was always rude. The drivers there are rude and I got nothing but a bad impression the whole time I was there. I will never go back, I hated Pennsylvania.

California. Never has so many been more important than everybody else without a war. Or should I say without a gun war.

When Bush won the Presidency without the CA vote an entire generation got screwed along with a lot of career criminals.

First - give it away to who? It makes a big difference if it is being given to its current residents to operated as an independent country or to give it to Canada (or North Korea)

If safety is not a issue, give away an interior, low population state with little natural resources (like Wyoming)

Wyoming seems like a pretty useless state if we had to sacrifice one. Hardly anyone lives there. Then again, it might be interesting if Texas were allowed to be its own country again. Or California. (Giving up one of those would affect the political results of the country enormously, so the answer might depend on your political leanings.)

Texas --it's got a poor per capita income, the oil has been sucked out of the ground, the people aren't educated, and it's a magnet for fundamentalism specifically and fascism generally.

It's also incredibly, unimaginably crooked. The county courthouses seethe with corruption.

Rhode Island.

It's too smal to be a state. It should either be part of Connecticut or Massachusetts.

Delaware is second in the running.
