I have a female mouse in her own cage and she is making this funny noise. It almost sounds like she is calling for another mouse. Do they use a mating call. I looked it up on the internet and I couldn't find anything on it. If anyone knows I wish you could let me know.

I have a cage with three females in it and one of them tends to chatter softly. She has always done this, is the friendliest of the three and currently pregnant. I have no idea why. I also have on that rattles her tail against the side of the cage. It sounds like a wet dog shaking with it's tail hitting a wall, but I cannot explain why.

I've heard my mice make noises before but mostly at night. They only time I've heard one make noises alone was before she gave birth. You should consider getting her a house mate. If you don't want to breed them, get a female. Sometimes they are vocal when they are together. If she was in a cage with other mice before you got her, she may be calling to her friends.

Outta sight - mice for pets. What will spinsters think of next? Yeah, she is calling for FREEDOM. I suppose if I had pets, I would try to learn about their upkeep before I claimed them.

You say that you have her in a cage by herself, did she have companions prior? It sounds like she is lonely, get her a buddy.
Good Luck!
