I had a problem with a refund at Best Buy. I had an opened box fee that came out to be $14 and the total price of the software I purchased was $21.97. They told me that since I opened the box, which had items missing that I would have to pay that open box fee, if I wanted a complete refund.

So, after writing to BBB online and filing my complaint, I received an APOLOGY letter along with a gift card for $30. So, YES!!! BBB does work for you.

Yes, I have filed a complaint with the BBB. The builder of my house was really slacking on fixing a water entry problem where my garage door meets the concrete. He continued to tell me things were tight and made all sorts of other cheap adjustments while I kept telling him that the asphalt and concrete at the garage entry was sloping towards the house versus towards the driveway and that's why water was leaking into the garage. I sent in a formal complaint to the BBB and they contacted him to let him know that if he didn't fix the problem that they would list it on their website. Within a few months he came out and cut a big chunk of asphalt and concrete out and created the proper slope for drainage. I am certain that if I had not contacted the BBB that nothing would have ever been done and there would be water in my garage forever.

Yes. They contacted the company and a management rep from the company contacted me within 2 days and settled the issue that I had. The company needs to be registered with the BBB though. Most large businesses are.

I had an issue with a well known computer and electronics company and their customer service reps. I ordered an item and it was guaranteed to be at my house in 3 business days. It wasn't, they cancelled the order without me knowing and then it took forvever to even fix the issue with the 8 customer service reps that were on the case. I ended up getting it on ebay faster and cheaper.

Yes, I was eating pasta salad at a very nice, quaint restaurant and there was a baby roach in the dressing! What made me mad was the server quiety apologized, no manager, no cook, no nothing! BBB now has a written complaint, they did send the restaurant a letter, and the sanitation people got involved and failed their inspection!
