civics were never meant to be fast. Kids today puts on an exhaust system and automatically they think they are faster than a Mustang. As I always say,"there's no replacement for displacement."

You haven't raced a really good "riced" out one. They were all show and no go. Your Expedition probably goes 0-60 in about 9-10 second range (if pre-2004). If newer it could be in the 8 sec range. There are some typical modified ones that could get to 60 in the 5 second range. You can make just about any car go really fast with the right mods. There is even a 1000 hp Ford Focus that someone built. They did this with the same 2.0 Zetec that comes from the factory. Obviously this was heavily heavily modified.

Congrats..... you paid at least twice the $$$ for your car. What do you expect!? Civics are economy cars... not race cars and 98% of those "riced" Civics don't have anything under the hood. Race a civic or integra that's all motor and you'll lose. But once again..... that's not what they are made for.

Oooh, the guy above said Civic Type R. B16B VTEC. Damn i'm impressed. I'll run one with a 02 Silverado- a heavy truck with a "mockery" of a power to weight ratio- how many lengths did you say you wanted?

Civics are economy cars! You should beat them!

You've probably 'raced' with econo-civics equipped with 1500cc, 4 cylinder, non VTec engines tuned specifically for economical fuel consumption as opposed to performance. And come on, who brags about whopping ricer's asses? That's lame man! If you really want bragging rights, try your luck with a Civic Type R with the 1.6L DOHC B16B engine. Once you get your *** whopped, you'll realize what 'ricers' mean by power-to-weight ratios and hp/litre which in your SUV, is quite a mockery!

Because it has more horsepower.. next question... In the long run a civic will last twice as long as an american junker without any major mechanical repair.. That's like asking why a pick up truck has more torque than a passenger car..

Try racing Civic Si's, preludes, or accords. They might give you a run for your money. The civic base models engine are tuned for gas mileage, not power. No matter what type of exterior modification it doesn't change the fundamentals of the car.

Streets are not for racing...Loosers.
Civic is nothing else than a old lady car.
And the Expedition a big piece of V8 junk from shidy Ford.

Even though ur suv is bigger it definetley has big v8 with lots of torque the civic has a 4cylinder engine If its riced out it problably has lots of miles and no compression in pistons

how big is ur engine? it's like 3 times the size of the Civic's engine.

civics are a blast to drive on curves, they handle amazingly well mainly due to their low center of gravity, and they will blow away ur expedition on tight curves.
