Yes. Prince William is seen by the royalists as a fresh start for the royal family. Since the last batch of kids (Anne, Charles, Andrew and Edward) made such a hash of it all....3 out of four of them have failed marriages....doesn't look very good for the queen, cuz, they are supposed to be the UK's first family...and set a good example.
So, Willy, is the golden boy...all eyes will be on him the next few years and he will not be able to put a foot out of line. His bride is probably already chosen. I doubt if they will let him marry his current girlfriend who is a "commoner" they let Andrew away with that and look what happened...also, this lady, whoever she is will be the future queen of england (Or will she just be a princess...not sure how that works, because, the queens husband is not a king) so they'll want her to have royal blood. So, yes, when he marries it will be international news, just like Charles wedding to Di...and when he has a child it will also be huge news, because, this child will be next in line to the throne after him.

It will be a HUGE, ENORMOUS deal, because his child (if it's a boy) will be third in line for the throne over Prince Harry. Remember, Diana was the most photographed woman in the world. Many of royals' problems stem from the constant media attention. They just have to get used to it or become a recluse.
