This is not against Americans, most of you have nothing to do with this... but why is it the government of the US always feels the need to interfere?
Don't they realize that the world sort of hates the US for meddling in other country's affairs?

I never spoke of money.
And the US isn't the only superpower, the European Union is stronger than United States now.

you're right. we should kick out the UN, bring back our troops home from wherever they may be in the world and mind our own business. if countries or people want to fight it out, it's their problem. oh, but wait.....where do we get our oil from......?

The US isn't involved in everything. That's an exaggeration which speaks to whether the question really has any merit.

Perhaps the question should be why should the U.S. be involved in external affairs?

1) The world is a smaller place than it used to be and what affects the world, affects the U.S. and often, vice-versa. So U.S. interests are often involved.
2) Even when the U.S. is not going to benefit, it is often the right thing to get involved. When someone is in need, am I my brother's keeper? Only if you have a conscience and want to sleep at night.
3) Other people's opinion of the U.S. is often not relevant. The U.S. is in a position of power and that can create fear or resentment regardless of whether the U.S. does anything. You can be hated for doing something and hated for doing nothing. You just have to do what you think is right and let people think as they will.

Often times when we do not act, we are chastised for "ignoring our global responsibilities" or "not living up to our obligations as a wealthy country or world power." It sort of gives us the idea that we have to act.

What I don't understand is why the world hates us for meddling, and then when we keep to ourselves, they hate us for that as well. What must we do to satisfy the world community?

I don't know...but it's odd that it's never called "interference" by the ones who benefit directly from United States.

Like the great interference in Europe from 1941-1945...or the billions upon billions of dollars spent annually interfering in all parts of the world.

Maybe the USA should STOP ALL FOREIGN AID to all countries
and get out of the UN and kick the UN out of the USA and see how fast all these people who do not like the USA start crying when their governments go belly up. Think about it for a while!!!!

The US gives monetary and military support all over the world. This is what makes the US a super power. China, Russia, they don't. If the US gives money to people that accept it, isn't it right that the US know what they are up to? Ask Europe.

The government feels it has a responsibility to impose it's power on others because it is the lone superpower.

We are wealthy as a nation and other nations ask for our financial aid. The $ comes with strings attached...politics ya know. Stop asking for $ and trades concessions and we'll likely leave you alone. Look at the poorest countries in Africa...they never see us cause they don't ask us for money.

Yeah, I'll bet they hate it, until there is a disaster of some sort. Then the U.S. doesn't do enough. The world is full of hypocrites and the U.S. is caught in the middle of them.
