every time i restart my computer, the firewall turns off...how can i make it so it always stays on?? i have windows XP

Usually, when the firewall is being turned off is a sign of a Malware infection. It turns off the firewall to allow the download of other malware or to allow information to be sent out.

Run you AV and AS programs for a possible Malware infection.

Go into Control Panel and click on category view if you are not already in that view. Then select Security Centre. Then select Windows Firewall, and on the General tab select 'on' and then press OK.

that should do the trick.

nicely i do no longer think of that residing house windows firewall want replace.... nevertheless you are able to swap on residing house windows firewall using administration panel... click on administration panel.. Then click on protection midsection.. After that click on residing house windows firewall.. finally click it on...

On the box where you turn it on ,place a checkmark in No exceptions

open your security center and check box for it to run at start up.

If I were you I would get a 'real'firewall. I suggest zonealarm.
