I have to tell you that I don't know why. But here are the most plausible popular reasons.

1. If we leave now, the terrorists will take over the world and we will be their slaves.
2. Saddam had vast piles of nukes, but he Fed Ex'd them out of the country during the invasion.
3. Profits for Halliburton
4. Profits for the Oil Companies [that's not the same as "oil", is it?]
5. To ensure election victories in 2002, 2004, 2006, etc.
6. Bush Sr. got a war, and Jr. wanted one too.
7. For the thrill of it. You got to admit, it's a lot of fun.

Maybe it's a combo of them all. Like I say, I just don't know the real reason. It's doubtful we'll ever know why our children are dieing in Iraq.

Many reasons, WMD's (which there was a small threat, but not as big as reported) Oil, sorry true, terrorism, democracy over dictatorship, and the big reason, Iran. Look at a map, what is between Afghanistan and Iraq.

As morally wrong as some may think... this is the first action by the US which is meant to remove a threat before the threat creates US casualties.
Of course many others think that it is all about oil... but the truth is that the WORLD, not just the US is better without Saddam Hussein in a position to cause problems.
