"I am shocked and deeply distressed by the apparently deliberate targeting by Israeli Defense Forces of a UN observer post in southern Lebanon"
"The co-ordinated artillery and aerial attack on a long established and clearly marked UN post ... occurred despite personal assurances given to me by (Israeli) Prime Minister Ehud Olmert that UN positions would be spared Israeli fire."
United Nations Secretary General Kofi Annan 7/25/06
"But you need to look at the events of yesterday,” he urged. “The shelling of the UN position, which is long-established and clearly marked, started in the morning and went on till after 7:00 p.m., when we lost contact.”
“You can imagine the anguish of the soldiers and the men and women – unarmed military observers – who were down there in the service of peace,” he said, stressing that the peacekeepers were in frequent touch with the Israeli army, pleading with them to avoid striking their location"
Kofi Annan, 7/26/06, Rome
It appears Israel does not want the UN. to witness their Genocidal war crimes.

Is "lie" and "murder" in the same dictionary for you people? People die in war. In the end it makes more people safe. If the UN had done anything about Resolution 1559 none of this would be happening. Of course, why should anyone expect this UN Resolution to be any different from any other?

Maybe it was because the Hezbollah set up their rocket launchers next to them.I don't why peacekeepers would be in a place that's @ war.
Please don't let me believe you believe Kofi Annan, you know the guy who was making deals with Saddam Hussein with the oil for food $$$.
The UN (KOFI) was suppose to make sure the Hezbollah stayed out of Lebanon after Israel got out of there 6 years ago he can't say crap about any1 he's so corrupt!
As far as Israel goes. They were attacked first by the Hezbollah from Beirut. They have the right to retaliate and defend Israel. They are attacked daily by radical islamic terrorist,
We will be there for them if they need us to be!

Why was there a Hezbollah flag next to the UN flag. Why were the UN "peace keepers" in the middle of a war zone? Why didn't the UN make good its order for Hezbollah to disarm? So many questions so few answers. The truth is that it is the UN that is the terrorist organization not Israel. Hezbollah started this thing and Israel will end it. Say what you want but everyone has been attacking Israel since 1948 and now they are tired of it.

Hey this is Israel that you are talking about, they didn't murder them, they just made a mistake and these peacekeepers got in the way! The Israeli's don't murder anyone, they just were killed because they got too close to where the missiles went. The Israeli's never knowingly shoot to kill anyone other than Hezbollah terrorists, so maybe the UN peacekeepers looked like Hezbollah guys, they shouldn't be wearing those uniforms anyway!

Israel might attack the UN base by mistake. Or it might be a delibrate action under the false cover of an accident.
Why would Israel attack a UN base? It's not housing terrorists right?

They didn't Murder them. The cowards known as Hezbollah were hiding in a U.N. Observation Post. Read the whole story, not just the headlines.

Some people like yourself will believe anything that suits your what you want to believe. It doesn't matter if someone says it on a street corner or the media puts it out, you automatically believe it because its what you wish to believe. Don't try and get the rest of us to buy it because it's a bucket that won't hold water. It's full of holes. Ok, there's my 2 cents worth, I know, you figure I own you money for that one right?
