I understand WHY it was vetoed, but I disagree with the reasoning behind it. Stem cells can be harvested from the placenta (afterbirth) and umbilical cord, after a healthy baby is born. While it is more difficult and costly this way, at least babies do not have to be killed. I have no problem with that. Just think: in the future, they could harvest your stem cells when you're born, freeze them and keep them until you need a new liver, heart, lung, whatever, and then just grow you one! Maybe they could grow me a bigger ..... well, never mind.

He has no right to do so, just because he is the President does he get to make all the rules? He isn't the head of the Catholic Church, he isn't the head of the Anglican Church, he isn't the head of any medical school, he isn't the head of the boy scouts, he isn't the head of the local YMCA, so who appointed him the head of Stem Cell Research. These politicians think we elect them to be the spokesperson for everything. We didn't George, no one asked you so butt out!
