Anything over 99 means that there is something going on...
children run fevers all the time..my pediatrician gave me some very good advice when it comes to them...
First of all he pointed out that a fever is the body doing its job
Second it isnt the degree of the fever in general that is cause for alarm but the way the baby is handling the fever. If the child is coherant and responsive, aside from being sick, dont worry so much.
Three always remember that children arent little adults and they can run a high fever with a fairly minor ailment. Fevers get more dangerous as we get older.
Sometimes alternating the Tylenol and the Motrin seems to help control the fever the best...Always call the pediatrician first to give yourself piece of mind.
I got this advice because my eldest child ran very very very very very high fevers...but was otherwise OK...she eventually grew out of them...The highest one on record..at the doctors office was..are you ready?......106.1...my thermoscan wouldnt register it because it only went up to 106.

What temp did it come out to be? Post the answer under your question and I'll check it in 5 min to tell you if the reading was too high or not.

If she consistantly runs a fever for longer than a day then i would call ur doctor otherwise just keep give her tynenol every 4 hours as directed. keep taking her temp just to moniter it so if u have to call the doctor u can tell them all the info. Try not to worry and keep calm. If it gets any higher take her to the doctor or call them ok.

When taking a baby temp under the arm you add one degree. So if it reads 99.5 then it is really 100.5. I would call the doctor if it reads 100 or more.

you always add one degree when taking the temp under the arm...but if you are concerned then call your doctor..it's better to be safe and have peace then be sorry and the baby get sicker.

when you take a temp under the arm, you add one degree to whatever you get to find the "real" temperature. so, if the thermometer reads 97.6, then the baby is normal (=98.6)
