I was raised as a Baptist (now an atheist) and dated a strict Catholic guy for a long time. The relationship was unsatisfactory in a lot of ways, but I still loved him and always will, but the differences in how we saw things was too much to handle. Like they say, sometimes love just ain't enough.

Almost all important doctrine is completely agreed upon between Catholic Christians and other Christians like Baptists.

There are some minor doctrine issues and some major cultural traditional differences which, I believe, do not matter that much.

A Catholic worships and follows Christ in the tradition of Catholicism which, among other things, recognizes that Christ made Peter the leader of His new Church and Pope Benedict XVI is Peter's direct successor.

With love in Christ.

I WAS ONCE TOLD THAT THE ONLY DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE TWO IS THE WAY THEY HAVE THEIR CHURCH SERVICES. BUT OF COURSE THERE ARE OTHER DIFFERENCES TOO. CATHOLIC CHURCH IS USUALLY A L OT MORE LAID BACK AND QUIET WHILE BAPTIST CHURCHES ARE A LITTLE MORE OPEN. THERE ARE ALSO A FEW THINGS THAT CATHOLICS DO IN THEIR CHURCH THAT SOME PEOPLE HAVE A HARD TIME REFERRING TO IN THE BIBLE. I WOULD SUGGEST ASKING YOU MINISTER OR PRIEST THAT HELPED ME UNDERSTAND A FEW THINGS.
