Sure Amn't I descended from them me self begorrah!, but I grew too tall and they disowned me. If they didn't exist why would authorities go to such lengths to capture them on camera

Yes they're real. But the Irish government doesn't want you to know. They are using the Leprechauns as slave labor in their whiskey factories. The living conditions are terrible for them. The guards beat them with shillelaghs when they step out of line.
