Not at all, a little rainy but as all schools are in classes it is low season here and hotels are very cheap at this time of year, when I say rainy season it means a couple of hours in the afternoon, One of the best months to see the Volcano Arenal as it not as cloudy oddly enough in Sept October, Hurricanes very rarely come to C.R. and even if so the mountains are a great protection
Please come and enjoy

I wouldn't think so. It is still the hurricane season (although fewer hit in September) but Costa Rica doesn't get many of those simply because most storms that get into the Gulf of Mexico hit mainly from about mid-Mexico on up, along the U. S. coastline (that is to say, once in the Gulf, they generally veer north). October is ideal for traveling to southern U. S. states because it has started to cool off some, but in the case of Central America, I don't know if or how much Costa Rica cools off by then.
Have a safe and fun trip. I hear that Costa Rica is one of the more enjoyable places in Latin America to visit.
