Honestly please don't jeapordize the safety of your baby by asking for any advice on Yahoo Answers since it is very sensitive - you will notice that on all foods and vitamin tablet bottles there will always be this prominent guideline: "Do not take during pregnancy, unless directed by a DOCTOR" - so if its regarding something like pregnancy, this isn't the place for you to be - go to a DOCTOR - please - yeah, maybe i'm just naive I just wouldn't want to mislead you - too much iron during pregnancy is potentially toxic to your baby while at the same time being essential so that's why i suggest a doctor being your absoloute most secure channel.

I don't know why you don't want to take tablets, but meat is the best source, especially beef.
You could also look for liquid iron. That is what my Mom gave us as kids.

Any form of liver is high in iron. If you eat scrapple you already get plenty.
