Pray!! It's a roll of the dice anyway. Hopefully a reader who does the recommending will happen across your book and like it. There is no easy or guaranteed way that will happen.

Do you mean book publishers or literary agents?
Generally speaking, you need to approach either one with a query letter and a 2-3 page synopsis. If they want to see your entire book, they'll ask you to send it to them.
Never pay these people to read it!!! NEVER! Reputable agents and publishers will ASK to read it and will NOT charge.
