I am taking some sinus medicine that has tylenol in it at bedtime but also have some other pain that I need Advil for. Would it be safe?

I can tell you Tylenol is secreted thru the liver and Advil which is a brand name for Ibuprophen is secreted thru the kidneys.
Sometimes when a pt has a very high fever, we administer Tylenol 1st and if the fever will not go down within an hour or so, we give the Advil (ibuprophen).
Since they are secreted in different areas of the body, It really doesn't hurt to take them close together.
Just remember, before you take ibuprophen, eat something even if it is just a cracker and some milk to keep your stomach from getting upset and irritated.
PS: I have been a hospital nurse for 11 years and still at it. I totally agree with Bonnie above me. You go girl!!!!

Tylenol & Advil are two completely different medications. So yes it is safe, just don't take more than the suggested dosage listed on the bottle. Advil may upset your stomach, so take it with food if possible.

NO as a nurse, you should leaver 4 hours between doses. For example, take Tylenol at noon, then take advil at 4. Some doctors believe alternating the two give the most relief.

If you take them 8 hours away from eachother it is okay. But Advil and Tylenol are mostly the same medicines, so it would be like taking twice the suggested doseage

I would not recomment taking those 2 in combination considering that it might be rather dangerous. I suppose this is a part impact and I might say to quit doing it considering that taking 2 med's whilst might be rather dangerous. I simply quit for like per week and spot if thats what it's.
