I heard that a long time ago, and I don't think it would be such a bad idea!! But I can't remember what country (or maybe what century) it was.

i cant even imagine what that would of been like.and ive never heard this story before but it would of been a deterant to all the murders in that time. yuk!!

Sounds familiar, but I don't remember it, either. Sounds like a hoodoo thing. Of course, you'd have to be pretty sure about who murdered the corpse--otherwise, it's pretty dang cruel punishment and definitely unusual.

I do know back in the middle east, when the Romans were in charge, they would put murderers in prison with a dead person attached to them face to face.
