Mp3 players. Sony are wonderful. One of their smallest 1Gb players says 60 hours battery life on the box and delivers just that.
Ipods have improved recently, I think the Ipod video is quite good but they scratch very easily which irritates me and the battery life isn't very good. The worst thing though is Apple tech support for Ipods who seem not to know anything and cannot help you with very basic things. And if your ipod is not under warranty it costs a lot to get it repaired.
Oh, and the fact that they cost so much to start with puts me off too. So, I reckon mp3 players. Sony are good and Rio were great when they were still bringing out new players

I have both, and I definitely like my generic mp3 player better. I can't move songs onto and off of my ipod without a separate program that I had to purchase - plus, the ipod requires constant re-charging. Though re-charging is cheaper... I prefer to constantly replace my mp3 player's single AAA battery. It's much more convenient when travelling, when you're out on the road running (you just carry an extra battery), etc. Plus, my mp3 player's controls are easier to use - I don't have to look at it in order to press any buttons (there is only one control on my mp3 player - works like a joystick).
Plus, my mp3 player is at least 4 times lighter than the nano ipod... about the size of a medium-size binder clip.

iPods are MP3 players, with lots of extra features. If you're just looking for something cheap to take with you when u go jogging, get a basic MP3 player. But for the long term, an iPod can provide much more, and is much higher quality. Plus, it has games.

Ipod's are a type of MP3 player, but I think that Ipod's are better manufactured and more efficiant than most MP3 players.

Ipod of course... As my idol has so many albums which I need to listen daily and only ipod can cater to my needs with that much of memory space...
Now that there's Ipod Video, I might get one of that so I can add his MTVs and Photos in... and let me drool over them wherever I go... Nahhhh.. maybe not the drool factor la.
But I hope Apple can increase the battery life to longer... 12 hours is not enough for me... Am I too greedy?
