First thought is check the oil level. Put it on its center stand, and look in the little window. The oil level should be between the two marks. If there's too much oil, the engine will run roughly and quit.

Second thought is check the spark gaps on both spark plugs.

Third thought is that your carburetor has problems. Pour a little bit of gas additive carburetor cleaner into your gasoline -- not too much, remember, the bottle can treat 20 gallons and your tank holds 2 gallons.

If the bike has sat up,with fuel in the carbs, the carbs have probably gummed up.The fuel that is manufactured these days has a really poor shelf life, meaning it becomes stale and basically,is turning into varnish. This usually starts occurring after two weeks from the date of purchase, from my experience(20+ years of observations in motorcycle dealerships). This is not usually as noticable in automobiles, because the jets inside their carbs, are not as small as the jets in motorcycle carbs.thus, the slow jets(pilot),plug up solid.Or,it may just be a piece of rust(fuel tank rusting) or trash in your fuel(water,dirt,etc...).Either way, this will require disassembly of the carbs.I am pretty sure, you will find the slow jets plugged. If you attempt this yourself,Honda Carb Cleaner works better than anything i have ever tried, however, make sure to wear gloves to protect your skin!!That stuff is very strong!!Keep it away from any painted surfaces you wish to keep looking new, such as engine cases, fuel tank, fenders, sidecovers,OR ANY RUBBER PARTS(orings will swell to remarkable proportions). ALSO,WEAR EYE PROTECTION!!!!Good Luck!P.S. the reason it runs on choke is because, the choke on that model might actually be a fuel enrichening valve and if it isn't,then, the butterfly type choke simply restricts the air in order to draw more fuel into the combustion chamber via the main jet(more vacuum forces more fuel through the main). If you continue to try to run the engine with the choke in the ON position, you may possibly damage the engine and/or yourself!!!!

dave m is right . when running spray wd40 on the rubber carb adaptors if engine speed changes you have a leak - if no change remove carb bowls and use a single strand of speaker wire to clean out the idle jets.(the slinder one just to the side and shorter than the large main jet).

First thought--- Fuel problem.
Check fuel filter and line for clog/restriction. Don't forget the screen in the fuel tank---what you can't see can XXXX you up.
