Make it interesting...tell it in an expository manner. For example, start with an anecdote about what led you to either your career goal or their college, etc.

Anyway, make sure you let them know your strong points...just don't put others down or laundry list (freshman year i did this this and this...sophomore year i did this and this and this).

Always tell the school what they want to hear. Tell them you're a hard worker and that you always finish what you start. Tell them how great their school is and how you would be a great asset to them. Boasting your past accomplishments. Make sure you spell check and check your grammar. They'll chuck it out if they find too many mistakes.

As for the rest, try not to sound typical in your essay. Think of something in your life that will make you stand out from the rest of the applications.

Tell them what you want to be when you grow up and what you plan to do once you get there. They tell them how the college and it's professors can help you achieve your goal.
