Christmas in July marketing plan is a fantastic idea! Both the consumers and the corporations benefit in the long run.

As a consumer, and a Christmas fanatic, I enjoy shopping for Christmas gifts in the summer because I like getting my shopping done early. Also, I can find gifts without the holiday crowds or the looming Christmas deadline. I can take my time and select the perfect gift for all the special people in my life. Also, around the holiday season, prices are raised, only then to be put on "sale". So, in December, the consumer pays more for the gift then they do in the summer, but they still think they are getting a great deal.

From a corporation's perspective, the 'Christmas in July' sale is a great way of getting rid of overstock fall/winter items in preperation for the upcomming season and new arrivals. These items are often DRASTICALLY reduced in price, because the point at this stage is just to get the 'product' off the floor. However, again, at a great deal to the mindful consumer.

Now, let's all go shopping! It's almost Christmas!!!

How about if we took Christmas and split it up throughout the whole year. Give presents every couple of months or maybe quarterly. Take some of the pressure off all of us regarging getting gifts just before, and after Christmas.

It is a joke. It is only organized by the big companies to reap in more money for themselves. If they want to think of it as Christmas, why can;t they be generous and give something back to the ordinary worker, instead of proclaiming how many billions of dollars they earn.
