The concrete has hand prints of when we were little. My parents are moving and I thought it would be a good gift to give them that memory for them to keep in their new house.

Use plaster and pour it in the hand prints and put a couple of sticks in the top to pull them out when dry. When dry lift them out. Then make a small mold big enough to fit the prints and fill it with mortar and depress the plaster hand prints in it. Don't make the mortar too wet as the prints will not keep their shape.
Sounds like a great gift.
Good luck.

It looks as though not many people understand your question but I do. If it were me, I would go to the local rentit center and rent a concrete saw, the ones that are like a worm drive saw and just cut a square around the hand prints. I wouldnt want to just have a mold of the handprints, but if you dont want to cut the crete, I would just get some plaster powder for mixing from your local hardware store and follow the instructions on the packaging. I really like your idea for taking the memories with them. Good luck and hope everything turns out well.

I find your question unclear.
Do you wish to pour a concrete pad? If so you have to build a form the size of the pad you want.
The sides of the form have to be exactly the height of the finished pad. The forms can be constructed with plywood, or dimension lumber. The sides have to be supported to prevent them from bowing out when the concrete is poured.
Hope this helps.

if you are looking to make a mobile concrete slab to use as a cover or something similar, you need a level surface, you can create a frame by staking wood into the ground and using plywood to frame it if you need a shape, if you are just creating a square or rectangle use 2X4 or 6. you can pour directly onto sand or dirt providing it's debris free. after your slab dries it will rinse off.

good luck
