The back ground is white only.. cant save a back drop... any help please?

right click and prop's dont work... it wont hold a picture..

Using the right click/properties allows you to select the Wallpaper (which Im guessing is what you mean by BAckground). If the system will not "Hold" the picture, then you could have a corrupt file there.
1) Try replacing the wallpaper file and see if this fixes the issue.
2) If not, try running a repair of the installation from the Windows installation CD. Run the Setup and continue through to the Repair Installation. (NOt the repair console.) This will copy over all files which have changed or become corrupt.
Warning: This may mean you will need to reinstall a few programs too. Not all, but some, as the DLL's are overwritten by the Repair.
