hi all,
i have a question about laptops.besides going to the coffee shops,airports,etc.. to get internet access,is there a device or something you can use,so you can access the internet from almost anywhere,just like a cellphone would work?thanks all

You can get a Cellular data card from almost any provider, Verizon, Sprint, Nextel and Cingular all offer them, prices will vary from carrier to carrier so you are best checking the rates and plans with whoever is in your area. Note that it will not be as fast as Cable or even DSL for that matter but it will be faster than dial-up and service will only exist in the area covered by the respective carriers.

Several of the major cellular carriers have such a service. You get a cellular modem for your laptop, and pay a monthly fee. There are plans with unlimited data access, and others with measured access. I've heard good reports about speed and reliability, but haven't yet used it myself.

I have used the Verizon Wireless mobile Internet connection and have had great success with it. It can be a little expensive if you are going to have home-based service as well, but by itself it is reasonable

you have to have WiFi connection, and it has to be in a hotspot, but they are almost everywhere now adays
