Or is the point of life to go on looking forever? Or at least until you die.

Umm.. I don't really think I've found myself (YET)!
I believe that the individual truly finds him/herself when they reach there goals that they keep on dreaming about their entire life. I mean, Our life is a journey of knowledge, you gain experience, you pump into some interesting people and some lousy ones.
I'm still young, I hope I live long enough to experience emotions/failure/success and such stuff.
And If I die soon, then I guess God just don't want me to resume this life and he wants me somewhere else! :)

It's quite an optimistic view, don't you think!

It really depends on the person...you see, if you spend your whole life looking for "yourself" your mind will be consumed into the idea forever...i think we all reach a point where we know who we truly are...but we are in denial......i say f*%k it....life is too short to be wondering about little things like that!! We are who we are....either you know it ..or dont

I have heard lots of older people (60's up) say that once they hit a certain age, they were very comfortable with who they were, and felt a lot of freedom from that. Considering it's usually the elderly who cut in line, that seems to be true...

well yum yum

People really find themselves if they do.
But if they do not find themselves then they definitely don't!
I have never heard of it working out ANY other way!

personally i have been looking around since day one .....and predictably will keep with ... till my last breathe, it is the best life i can imagine.

the point of life is to search and search for something to call your 'self'. Eeking out an existence in all the mayhem of the world, fighting, wars, drugs, and violence. You'll think you've found yourself, but its really just idealism peeking through your consciousness. you are never who you think you are. or who anyone else thinks you are for that matter. but maybe one day you'll find yourself. i know i lose myself more often than i find it

I know how you feel. I meditate, and it works pretty well in getting closer to finding yourself. No, I don't think anyone will ever truly find themselves totally.

Lucky is the one who finds himself before death. Else he/she wasted their life.
