Look up the Whistle Blower's Protection Act, which protects employees from being fired or otherwise wrongly treated for reporting anything. Talk to a lawyer that deals in work-related law. What is happening to you is terrible, and is no-doubt hurting your job satisfaction and performance. I really hope you resolve this soon. Good luck. If he's that concerned about a visit from the state to actually seek out someone to blame, then I would be looking for better employment. Granted, these kinds of visits are a royal pain in the tush but if everything's on the up and up then he shouldn't have any worries.

I would sit down and talk with your boss, or try and figure out who called the state and go from there.

The good news is your boss can't legally fire you for 'whistle blowing.' The bad news is, he can cloak it as something else and fire you for that. Document EVERYTHING and be prepared to seek legal assistance.

Assure her that you are not but that if she wants to fire you, you will be more than happy to sue for wrongful dismissal of job.
