The Olduvai Gorge or Oldupai Gorge is commonly referred to as The Cradle of Mankind. It is a steep-sided ravine in the Great Rift Valley, which stretches along eastern Africa. Olduvai is in the eastern Serengeti Plains in northern Tanzania and is about 30 miles long. The gorge is named after the Maasai word for the wild sisal plant Sansevieria ehrenbergii, commonly called Oldupaai.

It used to be Africa, but a jaw bone was found in a cave in northern Australia which very seriously pre-dates the other finds. This is still a matter of contention because all of the evidence of the evolutionary process of man up until the development of fire was in Africa.

In Africa. All humans originated from Africa and moved upwards and outwards from there before the continents separated.

It depends on if you mean Homo Erectus, or Homo Sapien. I'm pretty certain that both are in East-Central Africa though. Or do you mean the Cro-Magnon man... etc... etc... it's basically always Africa though, sort of near the Middle East, think... south of Egypt.
