Yeah, its a browser... but unlike IE, Firefox allows you to open multiple pages in the same window - in different tabs. So let's say I wanna open www.yahoo.com and www.google.com both - in IE these will be two different windows, in Firefox you may chose to keep just window and open the other link in a new tab within that window.

PS To see an example of tab, in IE click Tools->Internet Options. In the window that pops up, the General, Security, Privacy, Contents, etc are various tabs.

Firefox is an up and coming browser similar to Internet Explorer. Most pc aficianados will tell you, and I agree, Firefox is a better, faster browser...to the point that Microsoft's new IE 7 beta now incorporates many of the features that made Firefox popular.

Mozilla Firefox
It's an internet browser that uses the Gecko engine. In test performed by independent research companies it performed better than Internet Explorer in over 80% of the tests. Firefox is also marginally safer than Microsoft's browser. Firefox offers a tabbed, customizable interface. It is free.

Firefox is a web-browser developed by Mozilla foundation and IMO is one of the best browsers out there...very stable with far-less security holes than Internet Explorer.
It has a lot of extensions that can be downloaded from Mozilla site and can be used to do quite a lot things...like Videodownloader that can be used to download Videos or songs from various sites, Adblocker that can block pop-up ads...and the best thing...its FREE...

It's a web browser that is very similar to Netscape, and is so much much better than Internet Explorer.

With Firefox, you can have tabs in the main window, instead of having separate windows open for each page you are looking at. It is more resistant to pop-ups and it is easier to customize than Explorer.

If you download the Mozilla Suite, you will have a web browser, an e-mail and newsgroup reader, and a html editor all in one.
