the first thing to do is STOP THE CAR!! Let the thing cool off for at least 45 minutes before you do anything. Check under the car to see if you can see any fluid leakage. Then, when the radiator is cooled down, pop the cap and see if you have any fluid. Add water if you can, (the engine should be running while you do this) and then drive slowly to the nearest mechanic.

If the engine temperature goes up, turn the heater on with the blower fan at full speed, turn the A/C off and pull over when safe.
Take the car to a garage - severe overheating will damage the engine.

Put antifreeze in the radiator/reservoir. Let it cool down, try not running the AC so much. If it begins overheating while your driving turn on the Heat, it'll draw heat away from the engine. Watch the temperature gauge closely, it could do major damage to your engine.

Shut it off, open the hood and wait for a tow. If you have 3 or 4 hours to wait for it to cool down, fill the radiator back up with coolant, drive with your heater on full blast (it helps cool the engine) and keep an eye on your temp. guage. If it starts to get too hot, pull over and shut it off for a while.
