how to record on a dvd+r?

I have a dvd rom that suppose to burn dvd blank's but I can't get it to burn dvd+r's. how can I get it to.

you must not have a rom that can burn dvd+r. Read your owners manual and see what it is capable of burning. It might only burn DVD-R.

If you have a DVD-ROM it will never burn. That is a "Read Only Media" drive, to burn DVD's you must have a DVD-RW (Read-Write) drive.
