in this country the age is any thing under 18 is juvenile. so an adults prison is 18 and over..minimum open prison mainly for 15/17 yr olds. detention centres are for 12/15 yr olds. and for arrests anyone over the age of 11yrs..with an adult or social services. up to the age of 17yrs old supervised with a parent.

Well depends on what they child would be going away for.... cause if you commit a crime serious enough like murder then you can go at the age 13 or 14.. depending on if the judge thinks ur with it.. BUt at the age of 16 you can get charge as an adult... so depends on the situtation....

13 or 14 depends on the state usually...they can be charged as an adult because under the law, they are old enough to have a motive

I beleive 17 or 16, BUT sometimes if a younger kid than that does something HORRIBLE like, either on purpose or whatever, then they don't just say, "oh it's ok-he's just a little kid who meant no harm" they, on some occasions WILL send the kid to jail. Probably not if the kid is like, younger than 7, but you get the point. If they sent a tiny kid into jail---eh-not smart. lol

I believe the lowest is age 15, which again would depend on the city, as well as the crime, as well as the judge.
