I have had my significant other telling me that they feel the urge to kill someone or something they love to cut on themselves and one day they told me that they wanted to slit my throat while I slept it was also stated that they wanted to kill the cat just to watch it die. This person has been in and out of the psych ward due to depression issues. And has a major drinking problem. Today I found a thin wire with a handle on each end. What should I do?

I have been with this person for 10 years and it seems like the mental problems just keep gettin worse over time. and yes this is for real.

She was placed in the psych ward on Sunday but is to be released this Monday and I do not want her to come back but her stuff is still here.

Run away as fast as you can! There is nothing you can do for this person, and you need to be safe. He has deep, mental problems if he wants to hurt a helpless animal, and he needs immediate professional intervention. The fact that he has talked about cutting your throat should have been your first clue, and now finding a weapon hidden should be enough! Please - get out while you're still alive. You don't owe this person anything, but you do owe yourself the ability to keep on living!

Wow i would be scared shitless to go to sleep it sounds like this person needs to be in a mental hospital, if i were you i would get rid of the wire and see if i can do something about getting them help.. good luck ...
