I've never heard the poll results, so I thought I'd conduct my own.

The question was originally posed in South Carolina polls conducted under Karl Rove's direction in the South Carolina primary in an effort to turn opinion in favor of George W. Bush. The suggestion of any illigitimate children for McCain has no basis in fact. But thank you for participating in my poll anyhow.

Is your poll suppose to be effective because the child is black or is illegitimacy your real issue? All your poll tells me is that America is still a very racist society. Hillary for 2008.

Dc4, Don't be fooled, the majority of Conservatives and their supporters are Racist and harbour supremacy ideals. Why else would Rove think this would be an effective tactic. Apparently it worked.

He didn't father an illegitimate black child. That was a smear campaign planned by Karl Rove and George W Bush in the 2000 South Carolina primary. It worked, because W came from behind and won after the phone calls went out. And now you're spreading lies without checking your facts. Looks like you already drank the kool-aid

Would I be less likely to vote for McCain.... hmm lets see there chances of me voting for him now are 0, if he fathered a illegitimate child that would make the number 0. So no I guess I would not be less likely to vote for him.

I don't know why people talk about him, there is no way in hell McCain is getting the presidential nomination... at least not from the Republic party. You lib's can have him.

In today's world, THERE ARE NO ILLEGIMATE CHILDREN!!
The tag of "illegimate child" is still in the minds of some "oldsters". Every child born has a right to live!!

As to voting for any politician, I believe if he/she promotes themselves as an honest individual with a good program and doesn't spend outrageous amounts of monies bang - slamming the running oponents with ads, flyers, etc. then they are really interested in helping the issues at hand and should be given a "real vote" not just for political status!

did he know about the child and did he disclose this fact in his bio.and do his financials show support for the child .these are facts worth considering .now how this would effect his ability to lead america is what would be important if he did not disclose this fact then what else is in the closet that can be dug up and used to persuade him to lean in a certain direction.
there is a lot to making and informed choice and knee jerk reactions are plain silly as far as i am concerned and you have to look at the whole picture and the frame and the wall and the lighting .

I am no fan of McCains but that story about the illegimate black child is a complete FRAUD.

The senator has an adopted child who was born in Pakistan. That is how the story got started.

I think John McCain flip flops. I would be more likely to vote for him though if I knew he acknowledged the child, supported it financially and treated it as his own.

Your information is wrong; it's based on a racist tactic used by Bush supporters. John Mc Cain didn't father any black child; rather, he adopted a dark skin Asian kid. You tell me if Republicans stand for good race relation

Having Black children didn't stop Thomas Jefferson from being President.

As long as he provided for the child, it wouldn't change my veiwpoint at all. I would still probably vote for him.

If he neglected and denied the child - especially if the mother had DNA through the courts - well that is a different story!
