Kinda tough...I like both for different reasons.
The old days had the gimmick wrestlers...JYD, Iron Sheik, Ultimate Warrior...you know, the comic book, over the top type of characters. The good guys were good guys without a doubt. But they also had much stronger competition with other groups, the old NWA, AWA, etc. It was also a little more intimate with the house shows. I used to see these guys at the Hamburg Fieldhouse in PA once every couple of months, and you could get autographs much easier...it was great for the kids.
Now, the characters tend to have more shades of grey making them (at least in a fictional type of thinking) more realistic, and easier to identify with. Stone Cold or DX are guys who hated and screwed with the boss. At least personnally, I can vicariously take out my similar frustrations. The problem is, they don't have any REAL competition. Most of the groups...WCW and ECW...got bought up or disappeared. NWA isn't really competition, mostly because they're making the same mistakes that WCW made towards the end...they're banking on the old names, and not pushing the new talent at all.
So to give you a short answer, I'll go with somewhere in between...early to late 90s.

Actually I have enjoyed Rasslin since the early 60's on Tv in New Orleans. I can remember every Sat afternoon sitting in front of the TV and watching NWA wresting the AWA wresting and late at night watching Miss Gulf Coast Wrestling/ Ands Seeing Stars like Wahoo McDaniel, Tojo Yamoto, Oni Wicki, Fritz Von Eric,George the Aniaml Steele,Nikta Kolov, and so on I never saw a WWF match until the early eighties I remember it because Hogan was not the Champ yet Bob Backland was still the Champ and he was ring side doing pushups while Hogan was wrestling. Better Wrestling when their was more choices to chose from

I like a little of both. The latest incarnation, the WWE, has some very good talent, but the peak of my WWF fandom was in the "Attitude" era, around the time when Stone Cold Steve Austin, Triple H and The Rock were hot. This was when guys like Bret "The Hitman" Hart were becoming passe. Classic WWF, when Hulk Hogan was really hot, is a bit too fake and gimicky for my tastes, but it was still exciting.

I like the old WWF days. I don't care for this soap opera story line WWE of the present day. Give me the Hogan versus Buck Rock N Roll Zoom OFF main event over the crazy story lines. Remember the cow bell matches. Now that was wrestling entertainment.

well i been watching wwe since around early 2000's and like it but i think that the wwe in the late 1990's when they had tripleh, the rock, stone cold, undertaker, kane, and the rest of the superstars were solid wrestlers and thats when the wwe had awesome storylines and fueds and its when the wwe was at its greatest. I download matches from the late 1990's all the time and love them

i miss the old days when you had the charecters that were completely unbelivable like PaPa Shango. Back in those days there was more emotion in the storylines, but I think I like the attitude era most of all. You had Stone Cold doing what every person wanted to do (beating the hell out of your boss), the Rock taking sports entertainment to the next level, and the original DX.

You can't compare the two. Before, it was the WWF doing everything they could to beat the competition. Now that they're the top promotion, they don't need to try hard. But now that TNA is finally getting bigger, WWE should start to get a little better...hopefully sooner than later.
