How She Rose From A Broken Spirit
She used to run around free,
And that girl used to be me.
My spirit used to be high,
But was brought down from lies.
It used to fly with wings,
And it would also sing.
Until the lonely day,
When all the fun went away.
That day it broke,
And for a while it never spoke.
It had been broken in half,
And the people would just laugh.
No one really understood,
And it felt like I was in the hood.
I cried many tears,
And had many fears.
I wanted to fly,
And to no longer cry.
So I gathered myself together,
And looked for the better.
Eventually I grew strong,
Which I hadn’t been for so long.
Soon again I had my wings,
And the spirit again sings.

It's a good poem for young people. I agree that it could be published. It could be quite useful in teaching poetry to young people. Have you entered a poetry contest at your school? If they have one, you should.

the poem is ok, but the message is timeless. Good for you. You are on your feet again.
