While the laws are not how they should be, they are getting to be that way. Considering you used to be able to sit on your as* and receive it and now you're not able to do that. You HAVE to work if able to do so, and there is a 5 year LIFETIME limit on receiving cash. There are people who abuse the system and they should be dealt with, but blanketly saying that EVERYONE abuses it is BS.... Life doesn't always turn out how people think it will, and unless you've been there you don't know. Think before you speak is all I'm saying.

Yes. I must admit I cringe when I hear the word "welfare" but it can be, and is a good thing. Many families really do need it.
Sadly, many people DO abuse welfare and use it as a easy way out. That will happen in any system- some little scumbag will take advantage of it to leech off others. I don't know too much about welfare, but hopefully the ones who abuse welfare is a small minority.
Like that first girl said, welfare is a crutch, not a prosthetic leg.

I agree, welfare is great for those who need it - But it is a crutch not a prostetic leg :p

Most people who are on welfare, should not be.
