It's a movie...in the form of a documentary. Supposedly three kids go in the woods to make a documentary about the Blair Witch, but they never return. Their footage is found much later and reproduced on video.
But the whole thing is fake. People have started to believe the Blair Witch existes, but it's all just a movie. Made-up.

The movie was fiction. The people in it were actors. It was made for very little money, and made a huge fortune. There is a legend concerning the Blair Witch, however, and the movie is based on that legend.

Funny you should ask. i just listed it as best and worst movie ending. Do yourself a favor and watch it before knowing too much about it. Kind of like not viewing the tape in the Ring but the opposite.

It is a pseudo-realistic film, a mockumentary, in that it is not real.
It is based on local legend, but it is just faux filmwork.
And, it's not all that good. I fell asleep. Not a good sign.

no its not real. they're actors. and the movie itself is really boring. you keep waiting for something crazy to happen because thats what its hyped up as and no excitement ever comes.
