Wagner did star in IT TAKES A THIEF. Sort of a good guyish cat-burgular type person.
He also was in HART TO HART, where he played a rich do gooder.
And don't forget SWITCH with Eddie Albert, where he was an ex-con who teamed up with the cop who originally arrested him to solve crimes. It occurred between the other two shows.

Yes, I remember "It Takes A Thief"

Wagner was a cat burgler who tried to do the best thing - as a bit of a spy thing for the government.

"I've heard of stealing FROM the government, but stealing FOR the government...?"!
It had Fred Astaire as his dad - I think he was also a thief working for the government....

Hart to Hart was MUCH later and much worse.
