Yes, ever time someone says something you don't like you should headbutt them.

Ofcourse Zizou was not correct in headbutting Materazzi. By nothing that we hold sacred in sport or society should one person do that to another in the name of sport. Perhaps though, the question should be asked , should there be talk of "whoring sisters or "terrorist mothers" on a football pitch? Somehow , in my view of the situation, what Materazzi did was as cowardly an act as i've ever seen. To insult ones mother in order to illicit an action is not only despicable but quite cheap. One has to wonder why in the " Cup against racism", Materazzi's actions have not been swiftly and severely punished by FIFA.

NO, it's very simple trash talk does not excuse his actions and this was not the first time he headbutted someone in a match. He did so when he played for Juventus. Zidane is a great player but he has to deal with insults, just like everybody else.

i didn't follow the world cup games like i had wanted to, but i don't think that zidane was right in headbutting materazzi for nothing. i still don't know what provoked zidane in doing that, but it was not right!

I hated the whole situation; first, the man gets paid zillions of dollars for what he should love to do, so why the fk did he act like a 5 year old fighting for a candy?. Second, i can't believe that something told to anyone (in sports of course) could cause a destructive reaction like the one he had no matter how mean or grose the thing about his mom or sister said. And third, i played basketball all my life and when i wanted payback, i would hit them in the balls or whatever but been sure that NOBODY SEES YOU even the fricking cameras!!!
So no, he was not right on doing so.

How could anyone argue that? I don't care what someone says on the field. There is never a cause for attacking another player like that-- especially when it is the championship of your sport, and you know that if you get caught you'll get ejected. I'm not saying the Italian was blameless, but Zidane carries a lot more of the fault than he does.

No. That was the biggest mistake Zidane has ever done. I still admire his skills as a footballer, but I'm dissapointed of how he left the last game of his life.

No, big mistake! It got him thrown out of the game and almost certainly cost his team the game and championship. THAT makes it wrong. He is paid to play for the team, not settle personal things and get thrown out of a game. He could settle personal things after the game, and maybe then it would be right.
