There's no dispute about the existence of UFOs.

The term simply means something apparently flying in the sky and we don't know what it is at the time. Even flocks of geese have been known to trigger a UFO scare.

The only real debate is what they are and where they originate.

So far, there has been no convincing scientific evidence found that justifies assuming they come from outer space or are intelligently controlled by some superior technology.

When we make assumptions that they are extraterrestrial or mystical in origin (some people even think UFOs are angels!), then we are doing what our primitive ancestors did - grasping at straws for any explanation that makes us feel better and more secure. But, that still doesn't solve the mystery.

It's a good idea not to let what we believe extend too far beyond the facts or we may get hopelessly lost in an intellectual jungle of speculations that lead nowhere.

Nope. Just stories. No evidence. If there WAS some alien landing, or technology. Wouldnt they be scared about invasion? Wouldnt they put a full effort on mining asteriods for raw ores or something to increase the Earths manufacturing capability, making some kind of floating shipyards up in space and building warships to defend earth? We cant do it from the ground. If there was any sign of a real threat, there would be very obvious military activity. There is no stargate =) The world cant be saved underground by a secret military.

Define "evidence." There is no scientific evidence; there is objective evidence, such as radar blips, there is anecdotal evidence, stories of people who have seen or experienced ufos. There may or may not be pieces of ufos around. There are a lot of TV shows about ufos. Many people believe if you see it on TV, it must be real.

Well, duh! A UFO is an 'Unidentified Flying Object' not necessarily an alien space craft!
There might be UFOs that might turn out to be alien spacecrafts but not all of them!

Not really. They defy the laws of physics. Like no sonic boom when travelling speeds that exceed, oh, 20,000 miles per hour in our atmosphere.
