I say yes. It is a sad reality but for a person to know great joy, they also have to experience great pain. If you live your life with your heat closed then you will never have it opened to be broken, but then you can never grow from it and your emotional capabilities do not increase. It is hard to lose a love, but through it all you can love more. If you want to see a good movie on this point watch "Shadowlands" with Anthony Hopkins.

Ummm... From a personal experience, I don't agree with this phrase!

I know I might sound freaky and so stupid but this is just my own opinion. If you ask anyone regarding this sentence, he/she will tell you that it's true 100 %.
Well... Basically I disagree.
Because I've been into a relationship and we split up after 5 years of passion and love. To tell ya the truth, I still do love him up till this moment and can't get him back.
But the thing is... Seriously I'd rather not met him and not been into this experience in the first place, (Although it was amazing/wonderful & I learend A LOT from it) YET! The pain of losing someone you truley love and your FIRST love is devastating.
That's why, I certainly would rather never loved him or anyone else than being into a relationship that has failed, tore me into pieces and most of all got me heart broken.

I think this saying is true. My husband and I were going through a very rough patch a few years ago. One night I was feeling really sorry for myself and was thinking about my life and my situation. Then it occured to me. I should be thankful that I felt the intense love for my husband that I had in my heart when we married, and I should be thankful for the same intense love that he gave to me. Regardless of whether or not things worked out for us, I had the chance to experience a real, true, and deep love. There are lots of people that go through life never getting to experience that.

It depends on the individual if it is true or not. It does not depend on the masses.
