I love to write poetry, and I've written 42 since Novemeber. But I'm just trying to get people's opinions about some of my poems. So here's two.

The Wish I Wished

Last night I wished upon a star,
Hoping it would find you wherever you are.

The wish I wished was made for you,
And it was wishing that all your wishes would come true.

The wish I wished last night,
I wished with every bit of might.

I’m hoping that my wish will come true,
So that all of yours can too!

The Liar’s Words

There was a time when I believed,
Everything you told me.

But then one day I found out the truth,
And I realized you had lied.

When I found out you had lied to me,
It hurt me deep down inside.

Your lies had led me to believe,
Something that wasn’t true.

And since I thought your words were the truth,
I started to fall for you.

And know because of what you said,
It makes me cry every once in a while.

So now I know not to believe,
The liar’s words.

honestly the liar poem was good. the wish one didn't really make sense but it was good...? maybe is you work a little harder on them you'll get to where you want to be. <<< the liar poem real speaks out though. i do admit that. make a few adjustments.

These would be good for children or song lyrics or greeting cards for their simple lyrical structure. However, if you would like to write poems in a different style, I would suggest using word variation and no or little rhyming. Those familiar with poetry call this "cooked" vs. "raw" structure, i.e. something by Robert Frost vs. something by Ginsburg.

Those are really beautiful poems, I am a writer myself, though I am very young it is a way of expressing myself and I wrote my first poem in the 3rd grade...and have grown in my writing so much more. Continue to write and you will progress!!!!!

They're beautiful poems. Have you considered getting them published?
